:: COOPER LANDING WALKABLE COMMUNITY PROJECT ::
Alternative transportation planning to address congestion and road impacts near the Russian and Kenai Rivers. This effort has been supported by Cooper Landing community fundraising, volunteer efforts, and FTA grant funding through the Native Village of Eyak Alternative Transportation Planning Project.

February 2nd - Cooper Landing Chamber Meetings at the Sunrise Inn. Board Meeting begins at 9:30 and the General Meeting will follow at 11:00am. The quest speaker will be assembly person Sue McClure with the Kenai Peninsula Borough. If you have questions, concerns or just want to state your opinion please join us. Note that we have changed our meeting times, due to her scheduling. Hope to see you there!

February 3rd - CLAPC Meeting 6:00pm.

February 4th - Fire Department Training at the Cooper Landing Emergency Service Hall 6:00pm.

February 6th - Annual Cross Country Ski Race 11:00am. Due to the lack of snow last month the race has been rescheduled for this month. The race starts at the Cooper Landing airport and is approximately two miles long. Come out and enjoy the fun! Participants of all ages welcome, and costumes can be worn and are encouraged. Prizes are donated by local merchants. If you have any questions please contact Lisa at 599-0037.

February 8th - Parent Advisory Committee Meeting at the Cooper Landing School 3:15pm.

February 8th - Cooper Landing Emergency Services Meeting at the CLES Hall 6:00pm. Agenda items will include; the CLES billing rate, 2009 & 2010 budget, and our local ISO rating. As always, the meetings are open to the public. We welcome your input and hope to see you there.

February 9th - CLSCCI General Meeting / Potluck at the Helen Gwin Commons 11:30am. CLSCCI President Ronald Sloan will chair the meeting. Larry Lewis, well-known wildlife technician from the Soldotna office of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game will be the guest speaker. Larry's experience with peninsula wildlife, particularly brown bears, includes many hours spent in and around Cooper Landing responding to bear attacks, presence of bears in the Dumpsters, and teaching bear awareness and bear safety.

February 12th - Pre-school Valentine Craft at the Library 10:30am.

February 13th - Bowman’s Bear Creek Lodge Valentine’s Dinner in Hope. Please call 782-3141 for information and reservations.

February 15th - Health Clinic Board Meeting 6:00pm.

February 18th - Fire Department Training at the Cooper Landing Emergency Service Hall 6:00pm.

February 19th - Friday Night Book Club at the Library 6:00pm.

February 20th - CLSCCI Rib Dinner at the Community Hall 6:00pm. Cooper Landing Senior Citizens Corp. Inc. is hosting a tasty fund raising rib dinner. Well-known chef Arden Rankin will prepare appetizers, the full course dinner, and dessert. Beverages will be served. The cost for adults is $17.

February 23rd - Tuesday Morning Book Club at the Library 10:00am.

February 25th - Estate Planning Workshop at Eagle's View 6:00-8:00pm.
