Cooper Landing School K-12
Every child is welcome at Cooper Landing for the opportunity to learn, to engage, and to grow.
At Cooper Landing School you will not find bells, lunch lines, or broadcasted morning announcements, but you will find hands-on learning, peer to peer interactions, and a challenging curriculum geared towards students’ interests and learning levels. Your decision to attend Cooper Landing School is far beyond choices in classrooms, gyms, or auditoriums; it is about who you are and the accomplishments you’ll achieve while you are here.
Here you will find high quality interactions between staff and students, where students feel heard and understood. Classes are student driven where the individuals’ interests and learning styles are incorporated into daily lessons. Students receive one-on-one support and small group instruction throughout all grade levels. As teachers and staff we get to the know the students fully and are able to address their individual needs and keep track of their progress throughout their academic career. Lessons plans, classroom projects, and daily routines can be adjusted to fully serve the students. Students are empowered to make their own choices. They can take risks to learn life skills in the safety of the school environment. As a result, students develop a sense of personal responsibility, they take course work seriously, and are allowed to master concepts fully. While our one-room school may make you think of the Little House on the Prairie days, look deeper and you’ll discover we’re equipped with 21st Century Technology. Older students who want to explore specialty classes can use video tele-communication technology to attend live/synchronous classes offered in other schools throughout the Kenai Peninsula School District.
